Warren Lo, MD

Dr. Lo's support of the NeuroNext network will build upon his previous and current clinical research efforts. Dr. Lo is a clinical professor in the departments of Pediatrics and Neurology at OSU. His clinical research focuses upon stroke and rehabilitation in children. He has been the site PI on past and current NIH-funded observational studies of the vascular effects of infection in pediatric stroke. Dr. Lo is the Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH) site PI for four current NIH-funded trials of intensive rehabilitation in young children with cerebral palsy and hemiparesis. Because of his active participation in these NIH funded projects, he is intimately aware of how research networks operate, the start-up and conduct of multi-site studies, and the unique challenges in recruiting for pediatric studies. Dr. Lo has extensive experience with identifying patient study populations for feasibility estimates, and the challenges determining what proportion of these populations will participate in a trial.  Dr. Lo has excellent working relationships with the co-investigators at NCH that are so critical in meeting recruitment targets and assuring that the study measures are performed with high fidelity to the study protocols.
