Sarah Brooker, MD, PhD

Sarah Brooker was born and raised in Minnesota and completed her undergraduate degree at Yale University. She then joined the Medical Scientist Training Program at Northwestern University where she earned her MD and PhD. She stayed at Northwestern to complete a neurology residency as well as a fellowship in movement disorders. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Northwestern in the movement disorders division. Her research interests include PD biomarker discovery and neuroinflammatory mechanisms of neurodegeneration. She has recently been working in the lab of Dimitri Krainc using induced pluripotent stem cells from PD patients to study impacts of genetic mutations on inflammatory cells.
