Ms. Benge will actively participate and coordinate existing and new NIH funded trials at the site to support the disease specific area. Her role will include implementing clinical research projects and other NeuroNEXT responsibilities.
Ms. Benge obtained her Associate of Science degree in the area of Nursing from Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Indiana University. Ms. Benge joined the University of Alabama in October of 2014. She had spent the previous 12 years working as a research coordinator for a gastroenterology group in Mississippi.
Ms. Benge oversees the regulatory management for the NeuroNEXT Program. She is responsible for the regulatory submission of all protocols, amendment, SAE’s and annual reports to the central and local institutional review boards. Also prepares submissions of regulatory documents for research regulatory and local bio-safety committees. She also performs patient visits and data entry when required. This ensures all clinical trials are run in conformity with the protocol requirements and in compliance with the FDA and IRB regulations.
