Mark Quigg

Mark Quigg is Professor of Neurology at the University of Virginia where his clinical practice centers on epilepsy, sleep, and clinical neurophysiology. He is Director of the Clinical EEG laboratories that comprise outpatient EEG, epilepsy and ICU monitoring, neurological sleep, and evoked potentials. He obtained his medical degree, residency in Neurology, and fellowship at the University of Virginia and a masters in neuroanatomy from Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden.

His clinical research includes work on outcomes and techniques of epilepsy surgery, the chronobiology and sleep-associated aspects of epilepsy, and in clinical EEG. He is chair of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology’s test writing committee in EEG/Clinical Neurophysiology and was chair of the American Epilepsy Society’s Sleep section for 5 years and of the American Academy of Neurology’s Neuroendocrinology section.
