Mariam Andersen, MA, CCRP is the Project Manager of the NeuroNEXT site at UT Southwestern Medical Center, in Dallas. Mariam is a certified clinical research professional through SoCRA. Prior to her current role, Mariam managed pediatric neuromuscular clinical trials at Children's Medical Center with Dr. Susan Iannaccone for 6 years. Mariam served as the project manager of the NIH-funded, multi-center project, American Spinal Muscular Atrophy Randomized Trials (AmSMART). Mariam has worked on multiple clinical drug trials in SMA and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. She transitioned to the NeuroNEXT project manager role in early 2012, where Mariam oversees the NeuroNEXT grants at UTSW, as well as assists with other NINDS initiatives in the Department of Neurology and Neurotherapeutics. Mariam is a member of the management team in the Neuroscience Translational Research Center at UT Southwestern. In October 2016, she was elected by her peers in the network to serve a two year term on the NeuroNEXT Executive Committee. She will be the first NeuroNEXT Coordinator to serve in this position. Mariam received her B.A. from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and her M.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.
