Dr Quinn is the NEXT site PI at Oregon Health and Science University. He is an Associate Professor of Neurology, with experience conducting multi-center clinical trials in Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and Stroke. His primary research area is Alzheimer’s disease, with current VA funding supporting an animal laboratory for screening candidate strategies for Alzheimer’s disease, as well as support from an NIA-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Center to maintain a Genetics and Biomarker Core and supervise several NIH and industry-sponsored clinical trials in Alzheimer’s disease. Between 2006 and 2010, he served as national project director for an NIA funded multi-center trial of omega 3 fatty acids for Alzheimer’s disease. He is also the Director of the Northwest Parkinson’s Disease Research, Education, and Clinical Care Center (PADRECC), and site PI for the Clinical Core of the Pacific Northwest Udall Center (PI Montine, UW). The primary research focus of the Northwest PADRECC and Udall Center is understanding and preventing cognitive decline and dementia in Parkinson’s disease. He is not currently engaged in stroke research but participated in the Oregon Stroke Center call coverage for acute interventions for the decade prior to 2005.
