Claire Henchcliffe, MD, DPhil, is Associate Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience, Daisy and Paul Soros Clinical Scholar in Neurology, and Director of the Weill Cornell Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Institute, at the Weill Cornell Medical Center (WCMC), New York NY. She is the Weill Cornell site PI for the Columbia University Medical Center-Weill Cornell Medical Center NEXT site, and will be responsible for overseeing all NEXT study activities at WCMC, and serving in liaison from WCMC with the CUMC PIs, investigators, and coordinator. She trained in biochemistry at Oxford University, where she completed her DPhil. After a Lucille P Markey Scholarship at the University of California at Berkeley, she completed medical school at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University, New York, and Neurology residency and Movement Disorders Fellowship at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. At the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York, she established the Weill Cornell Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Institute, providing clinical care, teaching, and leading multiple clinical studies. Her own research interests are in the field of neuroprotection and biomarker development in neurodegenerative disorders.
