NINDS Preclinical CDE/Data Standards Webinar Series Kick-off – January 28, 2026

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) is pleased to invite you to the Preclinical Common Data Elements (CDE)/Data Standards Webinar Series Kick-off on January 28, 2026

This new monthly webinar series is designed to be interactive and to engage researchers and stakeholders with up-to-date information on preclinical common data elements (CDEs) and data standards. Sessions will address a wide range of topics relevant to preclinical research including:

  • Experimental design, rigor, and reproducibility
  • Metadata, data repositories, and best practices for data sharing
  • Injury models, EEG and seizures, biomarkers, and -omics
  • Histopathology, imaging, and related data standards

Members of the Neurotrauma Preclinical Common Data Elements (CDE) & Data Standards (NT-PRECEDS) Program working group will present the preclinical CDEs currently under development. Invited speakers will showcase best practices for data standardization and highlight tools and resources to streamline and harmonize preclinical research datasets.

This series aims to promote FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and TRUST data sharing principles, and to support alignment with the NIH Strategic Plan and NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy. By fostering data harmonization and robust cross-study analyses, these webinars will provide valuable guidance for enhancing the impact and reproducibility of preclinical research.

These webinars are open to the public, and we welcome participation from all interested researchers, trainees, and stakeholders.
