Principal Investigator
Dr. Mark Goldberg serves as the Principal Investigator of the NeuroNEXT site at UT Southwestern Medical Center, in Dallas. Dr. Goldberg is Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurology and Neurotherapeutics. A vascular neurologist, Dr. Goldberg provides care for patients with cerebrovascular disorders at Parkland Memorial Hospital, University Hospital Zale-Lipshy, and University Hospital St. Paul. His laboratory research focuses on mechanisms of ischemic white matter injury and repair. Prior to June 2010, Dr. Goldberg was Professor of Neurology and Neurobiology at Washington University. He served as Director of the Hope Center for Neurological Disorders, PI of a Program Project Grant (P01 NS032636), administrative director of an NIH Center Core grant (P30 NS057105), and co-Investigator of the Specialized Programs of Translational Research in Acute Stroke (SPOTRIAS) Center. He directs the Internet Stroke Center, a website for stroke education and research, www.strokecenter.org.
