Emine O. Bayman, PhD

Dr. Bayman is a professor of biostatistics with a secondary appointment in the Department of Anesthesia at the University of Iowa. She is the Deputy Director of the Clinical Trials Statistical and Data Management Center (CTSDMC). Dr. Bayman provides expertise in the design, conduct, and analysis of multi-center clinical trials. Dr. Bayman has a strong track record of translating clinical questions into study designs and has led both small and large multicenter clinical trials funded by NIH, PCORI, and industry. Dr. Bayman has published extensively on Bayesian outlier detection methods, Bayesian clinical trial design, general multi-center clinical trial design, neuro-anesthesia studies, and studies for the transition from acute to chronic postsurgical pain.

 

Dr. Bayman serves as a member of the study section review panels for numerous NIH institutions, including NINDS, NIDDK, and NCCIH, as well as the Department of Defense (DOD). She also serves on several Data and Safety Monitoring Boards. She is on the editorial boards of Anesthesia and Analgesia, Journal of Pain, European Journal of Pain, and Neurosurgery.
